PUPILS and teachers were given top marks after a visit by Government inspectors.
Meadowhead Junior School, Blackburn, was described by an OFSTED team as an "effective school in which there is good management, a significant amount of good teaching and whose pupils show very good attitudes and behaviour."
Staff were described as hard-working and committed and headteacher Janet Knight provides a strong and clear educational direction.
The school's provision for pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development was good and a secure and safe environment had been developed in which all pupils were valued.
In all lessons, pupils made satisfactory progress and their good behaviour contributed to their learning, a report said.
Lessons were well planned and teachers expected high standards from their pupils, it added.
Chairman of governors John Thompson, said: "We take great pride in our school and this wonderful report is a credit to the hard-working staff, pupils, parents and governors.
"I am confident we can build on our successes to improve our good quality education provision even further."
