AS an ardent cyclist for over 40 years and a car driver of 25 years, averaging 25,000 miles a year, I think Jim Todd's comments on the £20 fine for cycling on pavements (Letters, January 21) are misguided.
Certainly, the county's infrastructure is way behind other countries' as far as public transport and cycle-friendly areas go, but to intimate that only the young cyclists are the villains and that the motor car is the devil's tool is to take the wrong tack completely!
