REGARDING the proposed closure of the Lewis Textile Museum because of Blackburn Town Hall needing more space, why could they not have taken over the old Refuge building on Ainsworth Street. If that is too large, what about the three listed buildings on Church Street? Or better still, reduce the staff to fit the present tower block and the old town hall.
What about the listed building on King Street or even the massive one at the bottom of Preston New Road? There seems to be plenty there to go at without destroying anything else. The town cannot afford to lose its heritage.
