REGARDING your article about the Lewis Textile Museum (LET, January 19), the idea of shutting it and cutting off any memories of an industry that East Lancashire was built upon is just absolutely thoughtless.
As for the saving of £10,000 and the redeployment of one person all for the sake of some more office space for town hall officials, it is about time that Blackburn with Darwen Council realised that to improve the future, you just cannot simply forget the past.
I am sure that local historians and others who have visited this museum would agree that closure should not be allowed to happen.
