St Helens Crusaders 14 Culcheth 16 THE previous week's game took its toll on Crusaders.
For, with several players carrying injuries, Crusaders struggled against a younger side.
They found themselves behind after Culcheth crossed the line twice.
But they hit back with strong running from Dunn, Molyneux and Worral.
And a fine ball from Formby to Lee sent him on a 20-yard run to the line.
A Saunders penalty brought the half-time score to 6-10.
However, Culcheth grabbed the first points of the second half with a converted try.
Crusaders, continued to battle though, and it brought them two solo tries from NDE Format man of the match Alan Whitrow and Brian Dunn with Saunders adding a penalty.
On form for Crusaders were Yelland, Briggs, Dunn and Molyneux.
