DID the designer of the Twist Lane/Atherleigh Way, Leigh, roundabout practice on the Greyhound roundabout first?
Travelling south on Warrington Road at 7.45 each morning I am greeted by two lanes of traffic on a road marked as single lane.
At the roundabout these two lanes jostle for three narrow lanes giving entry onto the roundabout, the ONLY marking is a left turn only arrow on the left lane, which is (a) often obscured by a car in that lane (b) seen far to late by anyone in that lane to change lanes.
These two roundabouts may look fine on a drawing board, but when approached by a motorist "on the ground" they are a hazard. Difficult to negotiate if you know the layout and where you want to go. A positive danger if a driver is a stranger to the area and trying to navigate as well as manoeuvre.
