THE family of a teenage girl who was killed in a car crash are backing calls to control the traffic in Fulwood.
Salma Coser Khan, aged 16, was killed last December when her car collided with a motorcycle on Garstang Road/Regents Drive in Preston.
Her brother Amanat joined more than a hundred residents at a heated public meeting to put forward traffic calming ideas.
Amanat said: "I want to stop this hurt happening to another family.
"The council needs a certain number of accidents to happen before it will act."
Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans and road safety police were at the meeting. Organiser Salim Patel will form an action committee.
Suggestions included mini roundabouts and turning restrictions. But council representatives said there wasn't enough money to pay for certain measures. However, a reduction of Garstang Road's speed limit from 40 to 30mph looks likely.
