It was a case of missed chances for new Preston boss David Moyes (pictured) whose side started brightly against high-flying Watford. After his first league match as Preston manager he was understandably disappointed not to bring home a giant killing result.
But Watford have proven to be classy opposition this season and few realistically gave North End a chance from the start.
Moyes said: "There were some parts of the game when I thought we played well but we never caused them problems in the box."
The Deepdale outfit are now dangerously placed - eighth from bottom - with just six points between them and the drop.
But the division is tight and despite their position they are only nine points adrift of a place in the play-offs.
These are two good reasons why they have to make it the full three points out of three against Chesterfield at home on Saturday.
