PRIME Minister Margaret Thatcher waded into the row over the cash crisis facing East Lancashire hospitals - and told Burnley Labour MP Peter Pike he should say 'thank you' to the Tories for what they had achieved in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
Mr Pike had quizzed the PM over cuts to the health authority's budget, but Mrs Thatcher sidestepped his question and praised the improvement at Burnley General Hospital.
