WITH the Millennium fast approaching and with all the changes taking place in the Blackburn area - the new bus station, probably a new railway station, small parks opening up here and there, sculptures, projects under way and others in the pipeline - why don't we go for the big one?
Change the name of Blackburn - not to a new name, but to the old one of Blakeburn, taking out the 'Black,' which brings to mind old mills and everything that's dismal and depressing.
Blakeburn on the Blakewater, Blakeburn City, Blakeburn Rovers - I believe that 'Blakeburn (anything)' has a definite Millennium ring to it.
