ANGRY parents have confronted Bury and Rochdale Health Authority over an alleged head lice epidemic at their local school.
Five campaigners presented a petition of 813 names to staff at the authority's Bury offices on Tuesday.
They claim that head lice have been a problem at Heaton Park CP School in Prestwich for more than a year and are calling for a specialist nurse to be brought in to deal with the outbreak.
A health authority spokesman said: "The petition has been received and its claims are being considered. Public health staff will be meeting with representatives of the parents to discuss their particular concerns."
