AND POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an apparently motiveless attack which left a teenager with a broken jaw.
The 17-year-old victim was standing outside A & B Taxis in Duke Street, St Helens, at about1.30am on Wednesday, January 7 when a man got out of a dark-coloured saloon car (possibly a BMW or a Mercedes) and punched him in the face.
The attacker, who was about 5ft 9in tall and wearing a shiny black jacket, then got back in to the car and drove off.
Anyone able to help police with their inquiries can contact Constable Ian Fairweather at St Helens police station on 0151 777 6876, or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
