ANGER threatened to disrupt a Bury inquest yesterday (January 22) when the families of three young men killed in a car crash shouted across the courtroom.
Andrew Crane of Essex Drive, Bury, the only survivor of last April's crash, was accused of lying during the stormy hearing at Bury Magistrates Court. Coroner Mr Barrie Williams threatened to have relatives of the three dead men removed.
The three, Glynn Farren (19) and Lee Hill (16), both of Leopold Court, Rochdale and Tony Nardonie (21) of Drake Street, Rochdale, were killed when the MG Metro they were in collided with a lamp-post on the M66 slip road at Pilsworth.
A police van had been following the car, which at times reached speeds of 100mph. Mr Crane was thrown clear, but suffered serious injuries.
A verdict of accidental death was recorded.
