ST HELENS-based national charity the Disability Advice and Welfare Network has issued an urgent appeal for volunteers.
To keep them up to date with local developments the charity are trying to establish a voluntary 'newspaper cutting service.'
Paul Brennan, director of the charity whose headquarters are in Bickerstaffe Street, explained: "We are looking for volunteers who can spare about an hour a week to read through their local newspapers, cut out items of interest to us and and then post them on to us."
The charity helps disabled persons and their families with financial matters, including entitlement to benefits and obtaining help from the local authority. Anyone who would like to help them can ring Freephone 0500 827463.
