THE Higher Folds Home Alone Scheme at Christmas was a huge success.
This season 24 people of all ages were provided with Christmas dinner and live entertainment.
Betty Goodyear was responsible for cooking an excellent six-course dinner which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and casual visitors were treated to a glass of sherry and mince pies, all of which was possible thanks to donations from local businesses.
Co-ordinator Megan Haisley would like to thank all the people who helped them.
"We also received cash donations from several private individuals, the Lions Club donated food hampers, and the group would particularly like to thank Father Tom Gagie for his willingness to allow us to use the St Gabriel's Club this year which proved an ideal spacious and friendly venue."
