ENGINEERING firms in East Lancashire are being urged to bid to bring another accolade to East Lancashire.
Two years ago the Rolls-Royce Trent engine, which the firm's Barnoldswick plant produces components for - won the MacRobert Award - the Royal Academy of Engineering's annual prize for outstanding achievement.
Innovative projects in any field of engineering are eligible to enter the competition which boasts a £50,000 prize.
Last year's winner was Rochdale-based Whipp & Bourne for the development of a circuit breaker for overhead power lines.
Further details on this year's awards are available from Jane Sutton on 0171 227 0536.
