REGARDING her remarks in 'Disgust at dustmen' (Letters, January 27), the woman concerned should get off her pedestal and stop being so patronising.
Why do the binmen have to be grateful for a wage they work hard to earn? Does she realise how many hours the binmen work? Or does she think they pack up and go home when they've emptied her bin?
When we have a Bank Holiday, they have to work late or on Saturdays to catch up so as not to inconvenience the public, who are obviously not grateful.
If, in the first place, it was only five yards that the bin in question needed moving, why couldn't she be a bit more neighbourly and move it herself? Binmen are out in all weathers, all day, whereas this woman only has to walk to her car and back for a matter of seconds.
Maybe she should think of other people instead of her own comfort.
