HUNDREDS of children were sent home early yesterday when a school had to close because of a water leak.
The leak in a water main underneath Pleckgate School, Blackburn, meant that the school's boilers could not function.
Headteacher Heather Jamison said: "It was too cold to keep the school open so we sent the children home.
"Our GCSE pupils - years 10 and 11 - are coming in today but everyone will be back in on Monday."
