LANCASHIRE Lynx hit the Wembley trail this Sunday when Humberside Amateur side West Hull visit Deepdale in the third round of the Silk Cut Challenge Trophy, kick off 3pm.
The Lynx squad will be much the same as last season with the exceptions of Australian Stewart Francis who has been released and Neil Molyneux who has returned to the amateur game due to work commitments.
Newcomers to the squad are ex-Oldham Bears centre Darren Abram, Neil Mawdsley, ex-South Wales and Prescott and Jayson Pekepo from New Zealand side Taranki Rockets. A further change sees ex-Wigan and Gt Britain full back Steve Hampson in charge of coaching with Kevin Tamati moving into Deepdale on a full time basis with overall charge of rugby matters including schools development.
West Hull currently lie sixth in the Premier Division of the National Conference.
Lynx will line-up as follows: Allday, Waring, Finney, Abram, Parsley, Jones, Kelly, Taylor, Ruane, Briscoe, Gee, Mawdsley, Solomon. Subs: Fairhurst, Byrne, Donno, Pekepo. Their squad will be a mixture of ex-professionals and several current Gt Britain Amateur Internationals. They also have a good recent record against professional sides having beaten York and Prescott the season before last.
The clubs have met before when Lynx were the Chorley club in the National Conference with the Hull outfit completing the double over them. They will also come to Deepdale having won their last six fixtures. Lynx will have to exhibit some of the form they showed against St Helens at Deepdale a fortnight ago if they are not to become another victim of the Humberside outfit.
