A SHORT while ago, Burnley Council's chief executive Roger Ellis, described the cost of the recent housing inquiry as 'negligible.' He did not reveal the actual cost.
Now (LET, February 5), we read of a proposed independent inquiry into the same matter at a cost of £500 per day. Assuming this inquiry also lasts six months, that is 120 days at £500 per day.
So that is the Council's definition of 'negligible!' I rather thank the voters will take a different view.
