CHRIS Waddle will tomorrow send his players out to end their Wycombe Wanderers jinx and launch a push for the Second Division's top 10.

Burnley have conceded nine goals on their two visits to Adams Park but Waddle is confident of redressing the balance after guiding his side to six wins in their last seven matches.

The Burnley player-boss said: "It's not a happy hunting ground. We have been battered there twice so hopefully we can change that.

"It will be a hard game. They have got some experienced players who have played in higher divisions but we have got to fancy our chances of winning anywhere the way we are playing at the moment."

Burnley's run, which includes four League wins out of five, has lifted them to 19th place and a win tomorrow would put them within striking distance of a mid-table slot.

"With three points we would go above Wycombe on goals scored and once you get to 36 points you are very much in touch with the top 10," added Waddle.

"With two homes games then coming up I'm sure that if we could win them we'd be right up with the pack."

Andy Payton is expected to be fit to continue alongside Andy Cooke in attack.

Provided Payton suffers no late setback with a back problem then the Clarets are expected to be unchanged from the side that recorded only their second away win of the season at Preston last Saturday.

The substitutes should also be the same with Waddle happy for Kevin Henderson to continue to understudy Payton and Cooke.

Mark Ford may be unable to take his place in the party travelling south because of flu, which has also kept Paul Smith out of contention. Waddle and Gordon Cowans watched Wycombe lose 2-0 at Northampton on Tuesday night, their fourth game in five when they have field to score.

Wycombe's problems mean they may rush back experienced striker Keith Scott, who scored in the 2-2 draw between the two sides at Turf Moor in October.

Scott has played just 45 minutes of a reserve game following a thigh injury but could replace Steve McGavin and he will pose an aerial threat alongside 14-goal top-scorer Mark Stallard.

Another experienced campaigner in the Wanderers' line-up is central defender Nicky Mohan, a former Bradford City team-mate of Waddle.

Burnley from: Beresford, Brass, Weller, Harrison, Winstanley, Moore, Robertson, Little, Cooke, Payton, Matthew, Henderson, Hoyland, Blatherwick, Waddle.

Wycombe from: Taylor, Kerslake, Kavanagh, Ryan, McCarthy, Mohan, Carroll, Brown, Harkin, Scott, Stallard, Mcgavin, Read, Cornforth, Cousins.

Preston North End are trying to sign former Burnley striker John Mullin on loan from Sunderland.

Sunderland manager Peter Reid, who recently signed former QPR forward Daniel Dichio from Sampdoria, is prepared to let the player move to Deepdale.

Tony Parks, the Clarets third choice keeper, has gone on loan to Doncaster Rovers.
