ARE there any motorists who can solve the mystery of what the numbers three and four on the gear lever are actually for?
Travelling along the A666 between Blackburn and Darwen at peak times, I only ever have the opportunity to use the numbers one and two.
The journey between Blackburn and Darwen has become a tedious and lengthy one, thanks to numerous and continual road works, and the build-up of traffic at the lights at the access road to the extension of the M65 at Darwen.
As reported in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph several weeks ago, the opening of the new extension has eased congestion in Blackburn town centre. Well, we all know where that traffic is now.
