A SUPERB team performance saw Blackburn Rovers triumph 5-1 against QPR at Loftus Road last night to reach the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup.
A double strike by midfielder David Dunn was just one of the highlights as they dominated from start to finish.
But, if the young Rovers are to emulate last year and make it to the semi-finals, they will have to do it the hard way.
Having won at Manchester United, West Ham and QPR, they now have to visit Chelsea.
QPR were no match for Rovers, who snatched the lead through a brave Gary Hamilton header from Peter Murphy's cross.
Dunn made it 2-0, after playing a one-two with Andy McAvoy then going past two defenders to score.
But Rangers pulled one back just before half time following a free kick.
Rovers didn't look back in the second half, Dunn adding a third, Craig Woodfield making it 4-1 with a great strike and Martin Taylor heading the fifth just before the end.
"The boys have done very well in all their games and we played well from start to finish," said youth chief Bobby Downes. "We saw QPR win at Anfield in the last round and they looked a strong side. But we just didn't let them play.
"Perhaps we got them on a bad night and we had a good night, but it was a terrific performance and result."
ROVERS: Stewart, Richardson, Taylor, Brown, Murphy, McAvoy, Dunn (sub Hawe), Scates, Ryan, Hamilton (sub Connolly), Woodfield (sub Topley).
