A TOWN councillor is calling for Preston to clean up its act.
Councillor Jennifer Greenhalgh reckons the borough is a grot spot and has singled out the Royal Mail sorting office in Fulwood for criticism.
She said: "The whole town is full of mess. It's an absolute disgrace."
Councillor Greenhalgh added:: "The sorting office isn't tidied regularly. There are Christmas cards, bottles, cans and general clutter all over the place."
And she urged the council to act.
She said: "If Royal Mail don't get their act together then we will do it for them."
A spokeswoman for Royal Mail said the reason for the scattered Christmas cards is the current recycling campaign - cards have blown out of the skip and onto the surrounding areas.
She said: "We will keep a closer watch on it in the future."
But Chairman of the Environmental Health Committee Albert Richardson disagreed with his council colleague:"I feel very privileged to be in Preston and to say that it is disgraceful is ridiculous."
