A SUSPECTED bomb was blown up beside the A59 at Mellor Brook, just nine hours after a fire bomb was found in a phone box at nearby Samlesbury.
Twenty people sheltered in a pub while the package, which bore a Dublin postmark, was exploded by bomb experts.
A police spokesman said: "It turned out to be a perfectly harmless package which had literally fallen off the back of a lorry."
