CHARGES are to be dropped against two of the defendants charged after a clash between Asian and white youths which ended with three people being stabbed.
Crown Prosecutor Mrs Marion Nolan told magistrates in Bury that proceedings were to be discontinued against 20-year-old Adeel Minhas from New Cateaton Street in the town and a 14-year-old youth.
However, two other teenagers look set to face trial before the Crown Court.
Haroon Sadique, 18, of Walmersley Road, Bury is charged with two matters of unlawfully wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and two matters of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. In addition he, together with 18 years old Ashraq Khan from New Cateaton Street, Bury, face a matter of violent disorder.
Their case was adjourned until March 11 when committal proceedings are expected to take place.
