A FATHER is appealing for generous local firms to help his daughter achieve her dream of travelling to Copenhagen to take part in the World Kickboxing Championships.
Lorraine Hughes, originally from Rainhill, is just 16 but is already the world champion in her field and regularly beats women much older then her. However, although she has received an invite to take part in the World Championships at the end of July, Lorraine has to raise the travel and accommodation costs herself.
Dad, Dave said: "What she has done so far is a fantastic achievement for someone so young. But we have been told that it will cost us over £400 just for transport alone without adding the cost of accommodation. So far, the BICC have offered to help her but we still need more money."
IF you would like to help Lorraine, you can contact Dave on 0151 228 5390.
