STREET traders in Leigh, Tyldesley and Atherton are being warned to make sure they have a licence.
For time is running out on them, and they risk prosecution.
That is the warning from the council's Environmental Health and Consumer Protection Department which has promised a clampdown on those flaunting the law.
With Police help there were 10 convictions last year for illegal street trading. There are 10 more cases currently waiting processing through the council's solicitor.
Bob Saunders, Environmental Health Officer, said: "It is quite a simple and inexpensive matter to get a street trading licence. If you want to trade in the borough's streets, our advice is to apply for your licence now. Failure to do so could cost you far more than the cost of the licence."
