SPRIGHTLY centenarian Mary Hawley never gets fed up with birthday parties despite having clocked up 101 of them!
The birthday girl celebrated again yesterday with family and friends at Greenway home for the elderly in Darwen.
She enjoyed a glass of bubbly and slice of cake to mark the milestone.
A twin, Mary was born in the Sunnyhurst area of Darwen and started work in a local weaving shed at the age of 12.
After a short marriage, she concentrated on single-handedly bringing up her son Granville, now 78.
Until about three years ago she was still caring for herself in a flat.
Miriam Stone, an officer at the home, said: "Mary is a fantastic character and doesn't seem to have aged a day since she arrived."
