MR J Cowell who praises the dedication and care of District Nursing Sister Garrity and her team (Letters, February 18), and like-minded members of the public might consider voting in 'The Nurse of the Year Award.'
This is organised by the Community Nurses Amenity Fund and sponsored by Vernon Carus Co Ltd and CommuniCare NHS Trust.
Nursing colleagues, doctors and members of the public can cast their vote for any community nurse employed by CommuniCare.
The categories of staff eligible to receive the award are health visitors, district nurses, school nurses, treatment room nurses, specialist nurses, family planning, Macmillan, Marie Curie nurses and nursing staff at Clitheroe, Ribchester and Accrington Victoria community hospitals.
Nomination forms are available from all major health centres, Accrington Victoria, Clitheroe and Ribchester Hospitals. The closing date for nominations is Monday March 23.
