STAFF are celebrating after beating off competition from across the country to win a top safety award
British Steel Distribution, Blackburn, won the British Steel in-company award for improving health and safety in the workplace after reducing injuries by 40 per cent over 18 months.
More than 100 members of the site's workforce attended the presentation ceremony, where they collected a trophy and £2,000 to donate to charity.
The East Lancashire Hospice, Dame Evelyn Fox School, Green Croft School and the Fragile X Society medical charity will each receive £500.
