CHRIS Malkin ran his old Millwall team-mates ragged, Andy Preece continued to be on top form and Pool's defensive line were in perfect order for this impressive 3-0 win over the Lions on Saturday (Feb 14).
Anyone who saw the match witnessed one of the Tangerines' best team performances of the season.
Just seven minutes into the game and Marvin Bryan decided to disobey manager Nigel Worthington's orders.
Far up on the right wing, the right back had been told to use his right foot.
Twenty yards out Bryan let fly with his left foot and the ball was left nestling in the left hand corner of the net.
And just to make sure the boss new how he had scored, Bryan headed for the bench, pointing to his left foot as the fans went wild.
Many times this season Blackpool have taken the lead at home, only to rest on their laurels and see the visiting team fight back.
But Millwall were still coming to terms with the first goal when Chris Malkin made it 2-0 with a diving header.
And if anyone deserved to score in this game, it was Malkin.
He constantly left the Millwall defence in tatters, relishing the thought of scoring against his old club.
Nine minutes after taking the lead, Mark Bonner unleashed the ball to Preece on the right who crossed for Malkin to score at the far post.
Malkin collided with keeper Carter and was down for some time before rising groggily to acknowledge the crowd's applause.
The Tangerines' third goal was supplied by their new leading goalscorer Andy Preece.
Brian Law headed a John Hills cross back towards his own goal and Preece arrived to head the ball past struggling goalkeeper Carter.
It could have been 4-0 just two minutes into the second half when Law climbed all over Malkin and brought him down in the box - but referee David Pugh saw no foul and waved play on.
Malkin was substituted on 67 minutes and left the pitch to a fully deserved ovation.
James Quinn entered the fray and took little time showing what he could do, with a delightful run through the midfield before being tackled on the edge of the area.
Blackpool embark on a long trip to the south coast to meet bottom club Southend on Saturday (Feb 21).
