A BAND manager from Preston has called on football supporters to get in a singing mood to help one of his groups record a CD to be sold worldwide.
Avid North End fan David Bury, who used to live in the town but now runs bands and a London record company, will make a half-time appeal at the Wycombe game on Saturday (Feb 21) for an unusual Town End chant.
The 38-year-old, who still has a Deepdale season ticket and travels a 500-mile round trip every home game, will be on hand with his tape recorder to record the singing which will feature on up-and-coming group Caffeine's first album.
David urged everyone to sing loud and proud. He said: "I'm hoping for a big response. After all it's the Preston fans' chance to be famous.
"I'd like them to chant 'Caffeine - Barmy Army'."
The London-based band has appeared on Channel Five.
David added: "These boys are going to big and this is the ideal chance for Preston voices to be heard all over the globe."
North End Chief Executive Peter Church backed the idea. He said: "David has been an unbelievable supporter for a long time and travels a long way to watch us.
"It's a great opportunity to have Town End voices heard all around the world."
Caffeine's album including the Town End chants hits the shops in May.
