THANK you, Benjamin Cannon, for your lovely dissertation about 'Tottie' Road, Lower Darwen (Letters, February 20).
I was fortunate enough to spend the first 24 years of my life in Tottenham Road with those who were brought up there in the 1930s. We had a very wonderful life in what was our 'Shangri-La.'
My dog Bessie is buried there in Mr Pilkington's pen. She, too, roamed with me up 'Dover.' I was married from Tottenham Road and my late wife Nora lived for a short time at No. 12 with Mr and Mrs Pomfret.
Benjamin brought back some very happy memories.
JACK HOLDEN, Oxford Street, Darwen.
