VANDALS throwing stones and bolts from a 100ft viaduct have been warned: "This will end in death.''
High profile police patrols are being sent to the trouble spot in an attempt to stop a spate of vandal attacks.
Youths have been seen throwing stones and bolts from the railway viaduct close to Burnley Central Station. The latest attack happened at 8pm on Tuesday, during which cars and business premises below were damaged.
Sgt Paul Moores of British Transport Police, said: "The patrols will be going out in attempt to catch the culprits and stop the attacks.
"Those responsible risk causing serious damage and could hurt or kill somebody."
Anybody with information about the incidents can ring a free helpline number 0800 405040.
Last year concrete slabs were hurled from the viaduct for three nights running.
One of the heavy slabs, measuring three and a half feet by one foot, missed a security guard at Smurfit Paper and Board Mill by inches.
Transport police then urged anyone who knew the people responsible to report them before someone was killed.
Patrols were stepped up and the problem eased off for a time.
But the dangerous 'game' has started again and there are real fears that someone will be seriously hurt or killed.
Below the viaduct is a public road, Ashfield Road, as well as Smurfits and a car dismantlers.
