FOR the Love of Blackpool was the message from the Blackpool Independent Supporters Association on Valentine's Day as they marched to Whyndyke Farm.
More than 300 people started the march from Bloomfield Road to lend their support to the group and to proposals to build a superstadium for Blackpool Football Club and the community.
BISA spokesman, Malcolm Andrew, said: "The march went very well. The weather was very kind to us and we certainly got noticed.
"The plan was to take half of Preston New Road, but the police allowed us to use all of the road from The Oxford all the way to Whyndyke.
"About 300 people signed the visitors' books at Whyndyke, but some dropped out and many didn't sign."
Many supporters carried signs and banners and there was also musical accompaniment from a brass band.
Fylde Council leader Coun Paul Hayhurst and tourism and leisure chairman Coun John Longstaff also took part in the march.
The association supplied coaches for those fans wishing to return to Bloomfield Road for the club's 3-0 victory over Millwall.
Malcolm continued: "The march wasn't just for Blackpool fans - it was for the whole community who will benefit from the stadium."
And plans for the future? "One thing we have is a letter writing campaign," said Malcolm.
"We may have another march - but perhaps we won't need it if the parties involved come to an agreement soon."
