FIVE East Lancashire firms are to get the red carpet treatment at Buckingham Palace on Monday.
The companies have been invited to London by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh for an evening reception to mark their success in the Queen's Awards for industry.
Wallcoverings firm Borden Decorative Products of Darwen, furnishing firm Panaz Ltd of Fence, textile group James Dewhurst of Accrington and ink and pigment firm Wolstenholme International of Darwen each won awards for export achievement in the 1997 Queen's Awards.
And the Advanced Products Divison of Scapa Group, based at the Scapa-Scandia site in Blackburn, won the award for technological achievement.
Three employees from each company will attend the ceremony along with Prime Minister Tony Blair and Margaret Beckett, President of the Board of Trade.
The five East Lancashire firms are among 17 in the North West who won awards.
