ROY Hodgson's name crops up increasingly in conversations around the country as a potential next England coach.
Given his vast experience and the big impression he has made on the Premiership, it would be a surprise if the FA had not made a note in their diaries should the need arise in the foreseeable future.
And readers of Football Monthly magazine agree. Some 51 per cent nominated Hodgson to take over when Glenn Hoddle decides to step down. Kevin Keegan (20 per cent) was second choice.
Rovers fans, however, will be hoping Hoddle stays put for a considerable time.

TICKETS for the re-arranged Premiership match against Leeds United at Elland Road on Wednesday, March 11 (kick-off 7.45pm) went on sale to season-ticket holders this week on production of books.

FRIDAY, March 20, is the date for Rovers' FA Youth Cup quarter-final tie away to Chelsea. The tie will be played at Stamford Bridge (7pm) and, if a replay is needed, it will be at Ewood on Wednesday, March 25 (7pm).
Rovers are looking for a hat-trick of wins in London, having beaten West Ham and QPR in previous rounds.
SEVERAL reserve team dates are in the process of being re-arranged. The home game against Aston Villa was scheduled for March 11 but has now been put back to Monday, May 4 (2pm).
The home match against Birmingham City has been brought forward from Wednesday, April 29, to a new date of Monday, April 20, at Ewood (7pm).
Rovers, who are making a powerful title challenge in the Pontin's League Premier Division, are away to Stoke City on Monday night. The game will be played at Newcastle Town's ground (7pm).
CHELSEA'S involvement in the Coca-Cola Cup final has meant a change of date for Rovers' trip to Stamford Bridge, which was due to take place that weekend. The Premiership clash between the clubs will now be staged on Wednesday, April 29 (7.45pm).
Next Saturday's game against Barnsley has been postponed because of the FA Cup and the home game against Manchester United has been put back to Monday, April 6 (8pm) for Sky TV.
