A FAST-GROWING technology firm is set to move to a new site as part of its expansion programme.

Work has begun on a building for Torotrak at the Moss Side Development park in Leyland, and is expected to be completed by Autumn.

Torotrak is currently developing a new transmission system for cars which reduces fuel consumption and harmful emissions.

The new systems is already licensed to a number of motor companies, including Ford and Toyota

"The main reason for moving is the need to expand our in-house development resources," said Dr Geoff Soar, marketing director.

Torotrak, part of BTG plc, currently has 55 employees, but expects to double that figure within the next two years.
