CAN readers help in my search for my ancestors?
My grandmother, Mary Bannister (ne Grogan, ne Haworth) originally came from Blackburn. She married a William Bannister, who at the time resided at 20 Henrietta Street.
William, the son of Joseph Bannister, was born in 1848-49 and was a grocer. They lived there until William's death around 1924-1925.
Mary then emigrated to America with their child, Dorothy, in about 1926.
I have been researching my family history for the better part of three years. I have gone as far as I can go in America. Now I am hoping that, through your readers, I will be able to continue my search. Perhaps I might even contact someone from Blackburn who is a distant relative.
