MAY I thank all the individuals and church congregations who have posted to Kashmir the Bishop of Blackburn's appeal for news of hostage Paul Wells?
Last week, we announced that people could collect posters from Immanuel Church, Feniscowles, but the demand was such that all the posters are now on their way to the 400 towns and villages in the Kashmir Valley.
Because of the political upheaval in Kashmir, we cannot know how many will get through to their destinations, but, along with other methods such as the local press and radio in Kashmir and international media such as the BBC World Service, we hope that the Bishop's appeal will reach those who may have news of Paul and his companions.
I take this opportunity to thank Mr Aslam and members of the Kashmir Welfare Association for their help in translating the Bishop's messaged into Kashmir Urdu.
The continued prayers of the community, Christian and Moslem, continues to give support and strength to Paul's family.
THE REV JOHN CREE, Vicar of Immanuel, Feniscowles, Blackburn.
