A SCHOOL pop band has been given a £500 boost by the Prince's Trust to help with their dreams of becoming stars of the future.
Lob Common, which was formed last November by a group of Year 10 friends at Park High, Colne, are busy preparing for their biggest challenge so far, playing in front of a large audience at Colne Municipal Hall.
The band took time off from lessons and rehearsing to receive the £500 grant from Trust representative and former Park pupil Samantha Mills during a ceremony at the school. Lob Common will play at a fashion show at the "Muni" on May 20. The band features Daniel Thomas on lead guitar, Luke Pringle on rhythm guitar, drummer Adam Butterfield, Andrew Gardner on lead vocals and backing singers Gemma Cousins, Helen Machin and Andrew Hey.
A school spokesman said: "For many reasons the band was seen to be deserving of support. Their enthusiasm and drive has resulted in the band making great progress since it formed. We wish them continued success."
