A STAR-studded charity football match in aid of Hurdles will take place at Stainton Park in Radcliffe on Sunday.
Big-name players will join TV celebrities in support of the Bury group for disabled children.
A number of soap stars including Will Mellor (Jambo Bolton from Hollyoaks) will join Len Cantello and Asa Hartford, both ex-Bolton Wanderers, Les Chapman, David Moss and Alan Kennedy in an all-star team - subject to filming schedules of course.
The all-stars will face a team of Bury PE teachers with a few ringers thrown in, namely ex-Bury and Northern Ireland player Derek Spence, Bolton Wanderers' assistant manager Phil Brown and former Bolton player Peter Nicholson.
The teachers will turn out in Bury kits kindly donated by the Shakers.
The match will kick off at the home of Radcliffe Borough Football Club at 11.30am.
Hurdles co-ordinator Liz Sanderson said: "The first year we held the match £1,600 was raised with £800 of that taken on the gate. Last year we made £800, almost all of it in advance. Not many people came because of the last minute bad weather.
"I would encourage as many people as possible to support the event this year. We are hoping to buy a caravan which we will convert for disabled people and use it as a static holiday respite home.
"We have been able to designate funding to a project because we have received a grant. In the past we have had to use the money to pay bills but this year we are free to move forward and progress."
The day begins with a football match between two Jericho pub teams and a car boot sale, both starting at 9am.
A charity match in aid of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, kicks off at Stainton Park at 2.30pm on Sunday.
