CALLOUS thieves stole a pensioner's invalid chair after she left it outside a church while she attended the service.
The 78 year old entered St John the Baptist Church in St John Street, Newton at 3.30pm on Sunday, May 3 and parked her electric-powered Terra wheelchair outside. However, when she emerged from the service at 4.30pm, she discovered that the chair had been stolen.
Valued at around £2,000, the chair was black and grey with a basket on the back containing two bags. If anyone has information about the theft, they should contact the Crime Management Unit at St Helens Police on 0151 777 6050.
