A 14-year-old boy was attacked by a gang of men on his way home from the Bank Holiday fair at Sherdley Park.
The schoolboy had been with friends and they were heading home across Sutton Park at about 10.30pm on Friday, May 1, when they were approached by five men.
The men, believed to be about 20 years of age punched him to the floor and kicked him before running off.
The boy was aided by the residents of a house in Robins Lane and was taken to Whiston Hospital, where he received treatment for a broken nose, bruising to his ribs and cuts and bruising to his cheeks . He also had a front tooth knocked out.
