LYTHAM Land Registry has committed itself to raising £3,000 for the community hospital in Lytham this year.
Registration executive Jon Hunt came up with the idea of naming a charity of the year and believes that fundraising should be an opportunity for fun as well as something useful for the community.
He said: "We decided on Lytham hospital because most of us have had contact with it at some point - for ourselves, our children, or our parents.
"Most of us have good reason to be thankful to the staff there - we are very fortunate to have a local hospital and want to do whatever we can to help."
Jon and some of his colleagues took a day's holiday on April 17 for their first fundraising activity - a nine mile sponsored walk along Hadrian's Wall.
Despite atrocious conditions and some inexperienced walkers taking part, the group raised £450.
Philip Scully, chief executive of the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Community Health Trust, said: "This is not the first time the Land Registry has shown us their support.
"They bought us syringe drivers and blood pressure monitors just a few years ago.
"We are extremely grateful for their time and commitment."
