BLACKBURN Town Hall was accused of "acting like the KGB" by a councillor after a cover-up operation of an anti-Thatcher mural.
Coun Peter Holmes demanded an inquiry into a veiled threat made to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph when the newspaper tried to break the cloak of secrecy surrounding the mural, on a youth centre wall.
Town hall spokeswoman Lindsey McDonald had warned the Telegraph that things could "get nasty" if photographs were taken of the publicly-funded mural.
