GED Furey was today almost certain to miss the cut after the second round of the Turespana Masters in Majorca.
The Pleasington professional fired an opening round eight-over-par 80 on the Santa Ponsa course and followed up with a three over par 75 which included a double bogey on the first and two birdies on the back nine.
Furey performed well on the par threes yesterday, birdieing the 7th and scoring pars on the rest. But he bogeyed all the par fives to leave himself way off the pace. Spain's Miguel Angel Martin was the early leader after a first round 67 left him five-under-par.
