THE recent scufflings surrounding who should be the Euro-bank president proves that, at heart, the single currency is a political project, one driven solely by the ambitions of Europe's political leaders in the teeth of democratic opposition.
Britons, who so far have avoided ensnarement in the single currency, need to be on their guard to ensure that our own government does not try to browbeat the electorate into believing that the Euro is a good thing for Britain.
