LANCASHIRE were today drawn away at holders Surrey in a heavyweight Benson and Hedges Cup quarter final.

But skipper Wasim Akram insisted: "We fear no one."

Lancashire booked their place in the last eight in dramatic circumstances, thrashing Northants by 71 runs at Old Trafford on Saturday then squeezing through ahead of Warwickshire on run rate, by 0.96 of a run.

Yesterday they added a convincing victory over Derbyshire in the Axa League, their fifth one-day win on the trot since an opening B&H defeat by Warwickshire, with Mike Atherton hitting form at last with 98.

Andy Flintoff was Lancashire's hero on Saturday, hitting a sparkling 92 after Atherton had gone for a second ball duck.

But it was a different story yesterday as Flintoff was out for nought, leaving Atherton to rebuild the innings with good support from John Crawley (31) and Neil Fairbrother (70).

Ian Austin then dismissed Derbyshire dangerman Dominic Cork early in their reply and with Wasim smashing Adrian Rollins' middle stump in two, Lancashire were well on top when rain stopped play after 20.3 overs, and won by 31 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method.

They now have 10 points from their first three Axa matches, and are joint second behind Kent, the only county with a 100 per cent record - who they face at Canterbury next week.

Draw: Surrey v Lancashire, Leicestershire v Kent, Yorkshire v Durham, Middlesex v Essex.
